A women's concern

Friday we went to a fundraiser for A Womens Concern

A couple of our fine servers that made the night a success

Thank you sir

Saturday morning back in action ...

Irresistible!

A visit from afar ...

Not sure what it was about the grave that elicited such a cheerful response, but it sure made a great picture.

No matter how many times I review the hold of the ship, I can't help but wonder how the 100 folks below kept ANY semblance of sanity.

Remembering a time when every man's duty included defending his family

Tales of courage and faith were told

I couldn't help but but be struck by the absolute contrast of this shot. Sure makes you think ... don't it?

Babe ... you look simply smashing

While the girls ponder the sewing side ...

... I appreciate the workshop.

"How good and pleasant it is

Not to be outdone, I prove that big brother is STILL big brother.

Also not to be outdone.

Topping off an absolutely fabulous day with a fabulous time of desert, Four-on-the-couch and some time of song & worship

Though usually a stretch for the memory, four-on-the-pouch is neigh impossible when trying to sort over 30 people's names.

Still suffering shell shock, I find solace in my instrument

Sunday, October 18, 2009

Hello Folks,
.
Well, I've decided to move my blog to a more bi-weekly posting fashion. So if the postings are less frequent ... THERE IS A REASON! That reason is called ... life.
.
My wife is due in one month. Please keep us in prayer. Life is moving on very quickly.
.
I shall let the pictures share the highlights as they do.
.
As always,
Love in Christ Jesus,

Activities

Having failed to bring a rolling pin, my wife utilizes her resources

Next Saturday, it was time for the Palin's first annual medieval family festival (I love those "first annuals" ... been to a lot of those in my time. If I ever went to a "first annual" that I hope truly becomes an "annual", this it'd be it).

Jeff shows off his I-Knight the little known renaissance predecessor to the I-Phone maintained in secret from the monks of Mac a little known country in the corner of Europe

Awww!

A motley crew

Our Royal Host

Once there was a man who was sent to the stocks

He was deprived of bread and even cheap meat from an ox

Rotten tomatoes stained his long dark hair

Enough! Said he. For freedom I will tear.

But escape, he could not, and thus slipped into despair. ... The end (you know, there is definitely a reason I haven't been selected as #1 Children's Story Book author of the year)

A drink that has zing to it!

Only a man drinks a brew like that

Twitterpated

The highlight of the day, for many, the pillow log

Sitting was far too tame. To stand! That's the way to an audience command.

A friar watches the action

With my wife watching, I felt strength coursing through my veins ... I was on fire, VICTORY OR DEATH!

Well, death in my case. Although, Jeff was the ONLY person I couldn't ultimately beat consistently. I guess it's a good thing to have such a noble father-in-law.

She's going!

The split second where time stands amidst the shouts of the crowds, and the contestant stands frozen able almost to recover. Then, with a rush, they are down.

Challenging the queen!

Whooa!

Come lass, is that all you've got?

This is gonna be good!

My jaw dislocated, I realize my career as an orator was probably unlikely anyway.

Swings! Renaissance dresses! There must be photo op somewhere.

Motion! That's what I love about swings. The music of motion.

Art

Hmm ...

Nope! Tire swings are NOT made for pregnant women

"Come hither! come hither! my little daughter,
And do not tremble so;
For I can weather the roughest gale
That ever wind did blow."
Wreck of the Hesperus - Longfellow

Swing lass! Higher ever higher.

The signal is called for the races! (note, that chain mail was HAND MADE from COAT HANGERS!)

The junior division!

Not so junior division

Because I just can't do a post with out the blonde haired princess

Our hosts lead us in a period circle dance.

Playing Medieval Jeopardy - "I'll take .. ah ... Bubonic Plague for 500 points"

Thanks Rick and Sharon for a great day!

Before winter house care (note ... pre winter house care is definitely better then Federal Health Care)

Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he shall not depart.

That does not look like an OSHA approved move!

"Is it safe? Sure ... if you like danger!"

Hour after hour, the old is flaked away and the house is renewed. Sons are equipped and we move forward

Work being done, the dad's assume the Patriarchal Pose.

Patriarchal Posing over, we bid ... "So Long! Farewell Auf weidersehan good-bye"

Fall Beauty

Fall beauty of a different sort

It may be fall, but I don't think there is any beauty there.

Well folks, fall is here. It has been good to have a couple hours margin here and there I didn't have over the summer. That'll all change when the leaves fall. For now, it is nice to enjoy the season.
